We live in the middle of busy town, but still get these little field of rice or veges dotted here and there.
In this field, rice crop has been harvested and now being dried. I wonder how much rice they can get from this small feild???

Home School
Yes, one of kids play which we all got nagged in to play.....
Actually, we couldn`t say no as Hunny was spending so much time and energy to prepare it.

School Sets.
A note book and a tool box for each person. In side box was a pencil case, pens, a ruler,a glue and a pair of scissors.
The white board instead of a black one. This lesson was Japanese language with her original "Kanji"
Also on the board, there was a chart of cleaning , and name of the person who is on duty too.
The school started 11 in the morning, and didn`t finish till 4 in the afternoon!! We had a lesson of Math,Japanese, English, History and Crafts. We even had a school lunch too!
Viz is taking notes....
His note.
He learnt to write all the "Hiragana" and "Katakana" japanese alphabets.
Very impressive.
W were so exhausted after this!

P.Y.O.
One of very common p.y.o. in this season is Sweet Potato digging. I remember I went to dig potatoes from pre-school when I was around six.
This time, we joined the event from Takatsuki Hiking club.
We met up with the others front of the bus stop, so I was thinking we are going on a bus.... But this is a hiking club, of course they are going to walk!!

It was another summerly day. We walked following other people wondering how long it`s going to take.
We always went on a bus to this area( it`s by the Setsu-kyo river, and we`ve been to camping there as well.) and took us 20minutes or so.
I think we walked about an hour and half, having a rest a couple of times.

And this is the Sweet Potato feild.
Sweet potato plants spread with runners rather than standing up with stems, so top bits of plants were tidied up so we can see where to dig. (we pay 200yen per plant, so needed to make sure we weren`t digging other plants!)
Sweet potato doesn`t choose weher they grow that much. This ground was hard!!
But Hunny found good ones!
We dug total of 6 plants and these are our harvest. well, not bad I think....
And this is what Viz found...... A big cricket!
The picture is not very clear, but it does look like a cockroach...with long legs, doesn`t it?
But they do make pretty noise!
And, although I haven`t taken photo, Viz also found a grub! he was really excited it could be a stag beetle, but we think it`s more common scarab beetle. But he took it back to home and now it`s in his beetle box....
After these excitement of finding treasures, we moved on to the park for a lunch.
Hunny with our lunch.... See the Smily Eggs!!!
After the lunch, we had to walk another 30minutes, to the place they can do some BBQ. There, they cooked some potatos for tasting. But unfortunatery these potatos weren`t so sweet....... mmmm, shame...
Finally photo was taken (I`m sure there were more people than in this photo....) , said good bye and we were on our way home..... on foot!
We chose the way we thought nice, on the river bank.
After 15minutes we reached to the dead end and had to come back all the way!!! It did say "not able to go through" but we thought there should be some side path we can come off from the bank, but there weren`t any.... I think we walked around 10km in total!!
