The blue Autum sky and sharron friuts

Fishing at the river

We took to kids to rainbow trout fishing. When we were there last time (about 3 years ago!) we fished nearly 30 of them. So we had a high expectation of a big catch!

First we paid our entrance fee and rent for the fishing rod , and then the staff took us to our fishing spot. The river was blocked with stones into sections of a few meters without blocking the flow of water, and the fish were released into the section for us to fish. The man showed us how to put the food on the hooks, how to throw the lines into the water etc. and we started fishing.

Viz is having fun. A little smile on his face .

Hunny caught one straight away, but after that nothing happened for a long time....

About an hour and half later, we still had only one fish....

Fish were in the depths of river closer to the other side of the bank where our rented fishing rod won`t reach. So My dad took kids to other side of the river and climb down the wall and started fishing there.

That`s Hunny fishing. She caught three fish straight away again!!

But after that, fish just ignored us .........

Viz is having a lunch break. We took some Onigiri(rice ball wrapped in seaweed) and fried noodle. Yum!

We waited for a long time changing bait every now and then....

But they payed any attention to us......

In the end we had 6fish,Hunny caught 4 of them and The man looked after us caught one and gave it to us and another one was almost dead and floating when it was released in to the river so we just got it with net.

Fishing was not so good, but weather was fab! In beggining of November Viz is still in half sleeve t-shirts and shorts! I was quite hot in Jeans.

When we got home, We cooked two of those fish and froze the rest.

We simply grilled them salted.

Itadakima~su!

And, this dish is called "Oden" which hanpen(a light cake made of ground fish), chikuwa(tubular roll of boileg fish paste) was simmerd in broth with some vege like horse raddish and taros and tofu.
Something we eat lot in winter......
Unfortunately Kids didn`t like both Oden and the fish!!
Well, more for us then...!
