The Lake Biwa
We had a day trip to Biwako (the lake Biwa) which is the biggest lake in Japan.
The beach we chose was one of convinient place, 45 min on the train and 5min walking from station.

Soon we could see little pine tree wood and go through some building and car parks, then

We came on to the beautiful beach. It was a perfect place as water was clear, the pine trees provided us with shade and the sand wasn't too "sandy" to get everywhere, nor too "stony" to hurt your feet.
Water was very clear and could see through the bottom.
There were lots of small fish swiming around, they were too fast to catch with net or even a camera!
so, no fish, just my feet and water...The day we went there wasn`t actualy sunny. It was cloudy and had few showers too. but still hot enough to spend all day there in and out of water.
Back in UK kids (and me mostly....) were always frosen on the beach.
And also the water wasn`t salty!! It feelt like we were on the normal sea beach, but it didn`t give us nasty taste when it got in a mouth....here they really enjoyed swimming.
And, oh my god, this potato snack was reathol!

When I went to the convinience store to buy some snack, they didn`t have the one I usually get which is a potato stick with bit of chilli. Instead they had this "10times hot" one, and who thought it will be really 10 times hotter!!? a few stick of this really burns in a mouth!! We had a fun giving this to kids!
Hai Cheese!

Pine trees on the beach felt bit wierd as well....
It is the place I want to take kids again before summer hol ends!
