Tenjin Matsuri

There was a big festival called Tenjin Matsuri in Osaka.

The Festival itself last for a month but last 2days, they have boats going up and down the river , fire works, and lots of stalls .

We dressed kids up and off we went to the festival.

First, a commemorative photo.

We walked down to riverbank and saw loads of stalls were lining up.

Hunny found the stall doing the game scooping goldfish.

This is the game to scoop goldfishes with paper scoop. In the end you get a couple of goldfish to take home. But we didn`t get them to take home this time. I think the guy on the stall forgot us to ask if we want one. But that was ok because we did same thing when we were in Japan two years ago, and they died one after other very soon. And also.....

Viz found the game, scooping little Pond turtles!

This is new! Goldfish, bouncy ball and water balloon(yo-yo), they are the standard one, but now they do turtle...! and of course kids wanted to keep one.

We did these games as soon as we got there, so end up carrying this little feller all through the festival....

There were just people.......

and people....

and more people......!!!

Walking around in this in Yukata( type of kimono for summer evening) with a turtle wasn`t easy! Hunny was so hot and feeling so breathless and she couldn`t really sit down all evening as Obi (a belt) was tight and would push her stomack in!!

Started to get dark and we could many boats were passing by.

Some boats had musical accompaniment played on traditional Japanese instruments.

The Sun`s gone, and the lights from boats were reflecting on water.

It looked really beautiful .

While boats were going there was also the firework show, and that was done on and off . First we thought maybe something wrong with the program machine, but it was just the way they did and that was really enjoyable because we had fireworks for longer on the background to chill out.

After the fireworks, we went back to the stall as Hunny wanted to one particular game at last.

It was so many people leaving after the fireworks, some of the pass was blocked off, so it took ages to just get there, but it did worth waiting as Hunny got some nice notebook for a prise of game! (didn`t it? Hunny? )
